Originating from the Swedish word for sky or heaven, himmel, the Himmeli are a traditional Finnish ornament, a mobile decoration that is traditionally made out of straw, or rather reeds in Finland. They are typically extremely ornate and are traditionally suspended above the dinner table during the holiday season. It is thought that the larger the Himmeli, the larger the rye crop will be in the coming year.
While you may not have a rye crop to worry about, these gorgeous Himmeli are an elegant year-round addition to any home or office. These geometric Himmeli ornaments can be suspended from the ceiling to float in the breeze, or embraced as an air plant holder. Materials: brass + wire + porcelain, dimensions: approximately 9" (22.9cm) x 4.25" (10.8cm).
This Himmeli is supplied with the option of either an attached piece of clear cord to allow it to seemingly float while it spins freely in the breeze, or leather cord to give it a polished, modern look while suspended from the ceiling. The lovely + simplistic white porcelain cup is also included, but may differ slightly from the one shown. The Himmeli will also naturally oxidize and darken as time passes, but can be polished to its original shine. The beautiful Tillandsia Air Plant is not included

Launched in the Autumn of 2013, HEMLEVA is focused around bringing greenery into the home and into our daily lives. HEMLEVA is currently based out of Seattle, Washington, and is entirely run by Samantha Leung.
Originally launching under the name Handmade Sam*Made, the company and brand launched with a mix of both traditional and original handmade brass mobiles, wall sconces, ornaments and more. Samantha shares her passion for plants through her Air Plant Dating Profiles, General Plant Care, and through her original Plant-inspired Enamel Pins & Keychains.
As both the geometric and botanical pin collections grew, the number of stockists grew as well. You can now find Samantha's handmade brass mobiles and plant-inspired enamel pins and keychains in over 300 retail stores around the world.
To this day, each and every mobile and wall sconce is handmade by Samantha. Every plant is hand inspected and cared for, and each pin is designed and packaged by Samantha out of her Seattle studio.
